The Aims of the Trust
A growing band of committed people including representatives of all the performing arts organisations and the visual arts.
WHAT 1S OUR PRIMARY AIM?
To secure a vibrant and successful theatre and arts centre in Morpeth.
WHAT ARE ITS CURRENT OBJECTIVES?
To promote, maintain, improve and advance the education of the public
particularly by the production of plays and encouragement of the arts including
the arts of drama, mime, film, music and the visual arts.
WHAT 1S ITS CURRENT STRATEGY?
The Trust has to show that there is good community support for a local theatre
and arts centre in Morpeth. It is doing that by:
- Promoting a range of art events in conjunction with Mid NAG and the local Arts Development Officer.
- Encouraging local councils to improve support for the arts.
- Representing the interests of the arts on key committees.
- Drawing attention to required improvements in existing venues.
- Publicising events in existing venues through the local media.
- Participating in informal discussions on the future shape of Morpeth.
- Seeking increased financial support for the Trust through grant aid and sponsorship.
