The History The threatened closure of the Coliseum Cinema in 1995 brought together a group of people committed to securing a dedicated performance venue in Morpeth. As a result the Morpeth District Arts Trust was formed in 1997 |

| It has long been the wish of local people that
Morpeth had its own theatre and arts centre. Several attempts to achieve this
have been unsuccessful. Now, however, support is strong, organised, influential,
skilled and enthusiastic.
